Student Activities

The Department of Computer Engineering (RL) conducted the programme “Social Outreach Initiative: Fostering Joy, Creativity, and Digital Awareness” on 07/02/2026 at Matrucchaya Balakashram, Dighi, Pune. The visit aimed to interact with children and create a joyful and meaningful learning experience. Four volunteers engaged 25 beneficiaries through various interactive activities. Easy-to-colour pictures and crayons were distributed, encouraging children to express their creativity. A fun dance competition was organized, where children participated with great enthusiasm. Chocolates were distributed to appreciate and motivate all participants. Volunteers also spent quality time understanding the children’s daily experiences. The session introduced the basic concept of Generative Artificial Intelligence in a simple manner. The activities successfully sparked curiosity about emerging technologies. Overall, the outreach visit effectively combined social responsibility, learning, and happiness.

The Computer Engineering Regional Department conducted the programme “AI Powered Learning: Revolutionizing Education” at Punarutthan Samarsata Gurukulam, Chinchwad Gaon. The workshop aimed to introduce young students to Artificial Intelligence through simple and engaging activities. Four volunteers actively guided 30 beneficiaries throughout the session. Demonstrations of AI tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini helped students understand real-world AI applications. Interactive videos were used to explain AI concepts in an easy and interesting manner. A creative image generation activity delighted students by transforming their photos into AI-generated artworks. Children also participated enthusiastically in the Quick, Draw! Game, enhancing their creativity and curiosity. The session maintained high engagement through hands-on learning experiences. The programme effectively created awareness about the importance of AI in daily life. Overall, the workshop was informative, enjoyable, and inspiring for the young participants

The ISR Cell of the Computer Engineering (Regional Language) Department organized the programme “Empowering Orphans through Mentorship and Career Guidance” on 20th August 2025 at Punarutthan Samarsata Gurukulam, Chinchwad Gaon. The student-led workshop aimed to guide orphanage students toward informed career choices. Four volunteers actively supported 28 beneficiaries during the session. Participants were introduced to various career pathways, higher education options, and scholarship opportunities. The workshop also emphasized the importance of life skills and personal development. Interactive discussions helped students clarify their academic and career goals. Personalized mentorship provided motivation and direction to the participants. The session fostered confidence and encouraged long-term planning. Students showed enthusiastic participation throughout the programme. Overall, the workshop was impactful in inspiring and empowering the young beneficiaries.

The Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) Cell of the Computer Engineering (Regional Language) Department organized a workshop on “Stress Management for Health & Wellness” on 12th September 2025 at 9510 CR. The session was conducted by Dr. Rajeev Nagarkar, a renowned Ayurvedic doctor and clinical psychologist. A total of 55 beneficiaries participated with the support of four volunteers. The workshop focused on understanding the effects of stress on physical, mental, and emotional health. Participants learned practical techniques to effectively manage and reduce stress. The session also provided guidance on building resilience in daily life. Emphasis was given to adopting healthy lifestyle practices for long-term wellness. The interactive approach kept the audience engaged throughout the offline session. Participants gained valuable insights and useful coping strategies. Overall, the workshop was informative and beneficial for enhancing health and well-being.

The industrial visit to AirJaldi Networks was organized to provide practical exposure to rural broadband deployment and wireless network infrastructure. Students were introduced to the organization’s mission of delivering affordable and reliable Internet services to remote and hilly regions. The visit began with an orientation session explaining network planning, topology design, and the company’s community-driven approach. During the technical session, engineers demonstrated link budgeting, antenna alignment, bandwidth management, and RADIUS-based user authentication. The team explained operational challenges such as terrain constraints, weather conditions, and power instability, along with solutions like solar backups and remote monitoring. Overall, the industrial visit was informative and inspiring, bridging classroom concepts with real-world applications in rural broadband technology.

The Granth Dindi was organized by the Computer Engineering Department on 27th February to celebrate Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Divas, with 150 participants. The event aimed to promote awareness about the richness of Marathi language, literature, and cultural heritage. The programme began with traditional Deep Pujan and Palkhi Pujan performed by faculty members and dignitaries. A beautifully decorated palkhi carried sacred texts, including the revered Dnyaneshwari, symbolising devotion and knowledge. A devotional rally was conducted with energetic dhol pathak and rhythmic lezim performances. The procession started from the Administrative Building and concluded at the Mechanical Engineering Building. Students, faculty, and staff enthusiastically participated, creating an atmosphere of unity and discipline. The campus resonated with traditional spirit and cultural pride throughout the celebration. The event strengthened students’ connection with Marathi literature and spiritual traditions. Overall, the Granth Dindi was a meaningful and memorable celebration, reinforcing respect for the Marathi language and cultural identity.

The Vachan Prerna Divas was organised by the Computer Engineering (RL) Department to promote reading habits among students, with 150 participants. The event aimed to encourage lifelong learning, intellectual curiosity, and personal growth through reading. It was conducted in collaboration with the PCCOE Art Circle to celebrate literature and creativity. The programme began with a warm welcome and Saraswati Poojan, invoking blessings for wisdom and knowledge. Dr. Rachana Patil Ma’am addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of reading for academic and professional development. The Chief Guest delivered an inspiring speech highlighting how reading broadens vision and nurtures critical thinking. The highlight of the event was the Abhivaachan Spardha, where students recited excerpts from literary works with enthusiasm. A captivating Natyavaachan performance by the Art Circle Team added cultural and emotional depth to the celebration. Students actively participated, showcasing creativity, confidence, and appreciation for literature. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Anand Birajdar, marking the programme as a meaningful and inspiring success.

The Marathi Abhijaat Divas was organised to celebrate and honour Marathi as an Abhijaat (noble) language, with 80–90 participants. The event aimed to promote pride in the Marathi language and showcase Maharashtra’s rich cultural heritage. It was conducted by the Computer Engineering (RL) Department in collaboration with PCCOE Infinity 90.4 FM. The programme began with Deep Pujan and Saraswati Pujan, followed by an inspiring address by Academic Coordinator Sujata Kolhe Ma’am. Students performed powerful Powadas of Tanaji Malusare and Baji Prabhu Deshpande, highlighting Maharashtra’s valorous history. Heartfelt Marathi poetry recitations, including poems on Aai and “कणा,” reflected the emotional depth of the language. An engaging activity session and a graceful traditional dance performance added enthusiasm and artistic charm. A special segment by PCCOE Infinity 90.4 FM team members enhanced audience interaction and liveliness. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Anand Sir, expressing gratitude to all contributors. Programme for the academic year 2025–26 with 120 participants. The primary objective of the event was to introduce the new CRESA team and express gratitude to the outgoing 2024–25 committee. The programme began with Deep Pujan and Saraswati Pujan, followed by an introductory video highlighting CRESA’s journey. The previous committee members were honored with tokens of appreciation for their valuable contributions. The former President shared inspiring insights and experiences to motivate the new team. The newly elected members were officially inducted through badge and certificate distribution. An oath-taking ceremony led by the HOD reinforced responsibility and commitment among members. Inspirational speeches by the new President Advait Nathe, HOD Dr. Rachana Patil Ma’am, and Anand Birajdar Sir encouraged students to uphold CRESA’s vision. The event concluded with Pasaydan, seeking blessings for a successful and productive year ahead. Spike Showdown – Valorant Esports Tournament was organized as a multi-round competitive gaming event aimed at showcasing students’ tactical skills, teamwork, and strategic thinking. Conducted in three structured stages—an Online Qualification Round on 21 January 2026, followed by Day-1 Offline Knockout Matches on 23 January 2026, and the Semi-Finals and Grand Final on 24 January 2026—the tournament brought together enthusiastic participation from both in-house and external college teams. A total of 14 teams (70 participants) registered, out of which the top 8 teams advanced to the offline LAN rounds, creating an electrifying esports atmosphere on campus. The competition emphasized fair play, coordination, and objective-based gameplay centered on planting and defusing the Spike. The event concluded on a high note with cash prizes awarded to the winners, recognizing their exceptional performance and competitive spirit. First Place: Team 6-7 – ₹5,000 (MIT-WPU) and Second Place: Team Defenders – ₹3,000 (PCCOE). The tournament successfully promoted esports culture and provided a professional platform for students to demonstrate their gaming excellence

2. CHAKAVA EVENT

Chakava was an engaging multi-round student event conducted under the Techfest “Anveshan” by CRESA, aimed at promoting teamwork, quick decision-making, problem-solving skills, and cultural awareness among participants. Inspired by the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the event featured three exciting rounds—a history-based pen-paper quiz, the interactive buzzer round Shivsmruti, and a surprise adventure final involving clues and themed challenges. Around 180 students participated in teams, demonstrating knowledge, coordination, and presence of mind throughout the competition. The event concluded on a high note with cash prizes awarded to the winners — First Prize ₹5,000: Team Yantrix Abhiyantrix; Second Prize ₹3,000: Team Chakar Shivbache; Third Prize ₹2,000: Team Swarajya Sentinels — making Chakava one of the most vibrant and memorable highlights of the fest.

Sambhashini – शब्दांची ताकत, संवादाचा गजर! was an intellectually vibrant multi-round language event conducted under the Techfest “Anveshan,” designed to enhance participants’ linguistic skills, quick thinking, teamwork, and appreciation for the richness of the Marathi language. The event featured two engaging rounds — “म्हणाल ती म्हण,” a proverb-based challenge testing cultural knowledge and interpretation skills, and “बघा किती येतंय,” an interactive word-description round that demanded creativity, communication, and spontaneity. With enthusiastic participation from around 40 teams comprising nearly 150 students, the competition created an atmosphere filled with learning, laughter, and healthy rivalry. Smoothly coordinated by Pratik Ghavate, Sushant Didwagh, and Suhani Thakare along with dedicated volunteers, the event concluded on a celebratory note with cash prizes awarded to the winners — First Prize ₹4,000: Team 3 Idiots; Second Prize ₹2,000: Team Grace; Third Prize ₹1,000: Team Yantrik Abhiyantrik — making Sambhashini one of the most engaging and memorable highlights of Anveshan.

4. ML MANIA – Event

ML Mania was a dynamic multi-round Machine Learning–focused technical competition conducted under Techfest “Anveshan,” aimed at strengthening participants’ practical understanding of real-world ML concepts beyond the academic syllabus. The event emphasized problem-solving, critical thinking, optimization skills, teamwork, and strategic decision-making through a series of innovative and competitive rounds conducted in both online and offline modes over multiple days. It featured three distinctive stages — an online fundamentals Quiz Round, “The Glitch Hunt” involving reinforcement-learning-based code optimization challenges using simple game environments, and the final “Monopoly ML Wars,” a customized ML-themed strategy board game testing analytical and decision-making abilities. With enthusiastic participation from 28 teams across different academic years, the event created a vibrant platform for students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios. Smoothly coordinated by Prof. Priyanka Gupta along with student coordinators and team members, the competition concluded on a celebratory note with cash prizes awarded to the winners — First Prize ₹4,000: Team Karna; Second Prize ₹2,000: ML Sparks; Third Prize ₹1,000: Trojan Techies — making ML Mania one of the most technically enriching and memorable highlights of Anveshan.

5. LOGIC LAMP Event

Logic Lamp was an innovative team-based technical competition conducted under Techfest “Anveshan,” designed to strengthen participants’ logical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, coding skills, and strategic thinking through multiple progressive rounds. The event combined fundamentals, real-time debugging challenges, and a unique bidding-based coding finale to create an engaging and high-pressure competitive environment. It featured three distinctive stages — “The Screening,” an aptitude and logic-based shortlisting round; “The Elimination,” a fast-paced multi-level debugging challenge conducted on HackerRank; and the grand finale “CodeBid Auction,” where finalist teams strategically bid virtual points on problem statements and programming components before building executable solutions under constraints. With enthusiastic participation from 41 two-member teams, the event witnessed intense competition and strong interest in competitive programming. Smoothly coordinated by Prof. Minal Shahakar along with dedicated student coordinators and volunteers, the event concluded on a celebratory note with cash prizes and special awards — Winner ₹3,000: Pruthviraj Desale; Runner-up ₹2,000: Odd Primes; Optimal Code Award ₹1,000: Vanguard; Fastest Levels Completion Award ₹1,000: Minimum_Spanning_Tree — making Logic Lamp one of the most strategic and intellectually stimulating highlights of Anveshan.

On 10th August 2024, the Computer Engineering (RL) Department celebrated Teacher’s Day in the Seminar Hall to honor and appreciate the faculty’s dedication and guidance. The event began with traditional rituals including Deep Pujan, Saraswati Pujan, and Ganesh Vandana, setting a positive tone. Students performed a humorous skit highlighting the student-teacher relationship, followed by felicitations to the teachers as a mark of respect. Interactive games like Song Completion and Dumb Charades engaged both teachers and students, while Funny Awards brought laughter by playfully recognizing teachers’ unique traits. A classical dance performance added cultural elegance to the celebration. The event concluded with an inspiring speech by the Head of Department, Dr. Rachana Patil, and a formal Vote of Thanks, leaving the occasion joyful and memorable while strengthening the bond between students and faculty.

On 26th September 2024, an educational visit was organized for 20 students from underprivileged backgrounds to inspire them to pursue higher education in engineering and architecture. The students were guided through various college departments, where they explored different labs and workshops, gaining exposure to the practical world of technology. The visit concluded with a Career Guidance Session by Prof. Anand Birajdar, where students were motivated to pursue careers in engineering. The feedback received showed high enthusiasm and curiosity among the students.

Techno-Insights Symposium

The Comp Engg (RL) dept and NSS organized a "Grain Kit Donation Drive" in August 2025 to support needy families.
A total of ₹22,851 was collected, with ₹7,851 from students and ₹15,000 from faculty.The funds were utilized for preparing and distributing grain kits via the Robin Hood Army.All expenses were managed transparently, mainly for posters, forms, and kit preparation.The drive successfully fulfilled NSS’s objective of serving society through collective effort.

CHAKAVA – The Lost Warrior Treasure Hunt

The Treasure Hunt event, “CHAKAVA – The Lost Warrior of Swarajya”, was conducted over two days, with Rounds 1 and 2 on March 7 and the final round on March 8. Centered on the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the competition comprised three engaging rounds: a history quiz, a buzzer round (Shivsmruti), and a campus- wide treasure hunt. A total of 176 participants showcased their knowledge, quick thinking, and teamwork. The event concluded with cash prizes awarded to the top three teams. The event concluded on an exciting note with the announcement of the top three winners. The prize distribution was as follows: First Place: Team Shivsmruti – ₹5,000 Second Place: Team Mavle – ₹3,000 Third Place: Team Chakar Shivbache – ₹2,000

Conducted under Anveshan – The Techfest, this Marathi linguistic event featured 150 participants across 40 teams. Round 1 tested proverb knowledge ( णाल ती ण), while Round 2 challenged creativity and teamwork (बघा षकती येतंय). Winners were awarded cash prizes. The event celebrated the richness of the Marathi language through fun, engaging competition. A total of 150 participants, grouped into 40 teams, actively took part in the event. The competition concluded with prize distribution, where Aditya Pujari secured the 1st Prize of ₹4000/-, Shivani Yadav won the 2nd Prize of ₹2000/-, and Suraj Sanas received the 3rd Prize of ₹1000/-.

Cyber Canvas

The Cyber Canvas event challenged participants to design and develop a fully functional website for Team CRESA within a strict 4-hour timeframe. The website structure was predefined with essential pages, including Home, Team Events, and functionalities to add, remove, and update events. A total of 17 teams (2–4 members each) showcased their creativity and technical expertise using frameworks such as React, Next.js, Tailwind, and Bootstrap, with AI tools like GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT permitted. The event highlighted innovation, coding skills, and design excellence. Winners were recognized across three categories: Team LEGACY PEER DEPS (Best Overall – ₹6000), Team HSR² (Best Design & UI/UX – ₹3000), and Team EVITABLE404 (Best Functionality & Performance – ₹3000).

ML Wars

A two-round machine learning competition with 13 teams. In Round 1, participants developed classification and regression models, evaluated using metrics like R², RMSE, and F1-Score. Round 2 was an “Insight Challenge” using only MS Excel for binary classification. Winners received cash prizes, and the event highlighted analytical skills, model evaluation, and problem- solving. The winners of the competition were announced as follows: 1st Place was secured by Mitesh Diwas and Vedant Swami (Team Urban Trainers), receiving a prize of Rs. 4000/-. 2nd Place went to Kamaaksha Kharul and Aakash Jawle (Team Byte Crackers), with a prize of Rs. 3000/-. The 3rd Place was shared by Ojas Patil and Harshvardhan Nerpagar (Team Whateveritis) and Gaurav Tanpure (Team GNJ Gang), each awarded Rs. 1000/-.

Logic Lamp

A coding competition conducted under Anveshan – The Techfest. Participants competed in rounds including an online quiz, a cybersecurity coding gateway, and a unique “CodeBid Auction” where strategy and coding skill determined success. 52 participants (26 teams) competed, with cash prizes awarded to the top three teams. The winners were Team SK (Karan Jadhav and Sanket Jadhav), securing the 1st Prize of ₹4000/-, followed by Team XD (Vardhan Khinvansara and Samiksha Dhurve) winning the 2nd Prize of ₹2000/-, and Team Arcade (Rajesh Patil and Irfan Mohammed) bagging the 3rd Prize of ₹1000/-. Overall, the event was a grand success, offering participants an enriching experience filled with technical challenges, logical battles, and a true test of problem-solving skills.

A one-day symposium was conducted on 2nd August 2024 at the PBS Seminar Hall, coordinated by Mrs. Rohini Sarode and Mrs. Rucha Shinde, with 98 students attending. Esteemed speakers including Mr. Rahul Kulkarni, Mr. Kaushik Paranjape, Mr. Harshal Tupsamudre, and Mr. Tushar Kute delivered insightful sessions on AI, ML, DevOps, cybersecurity, and data science. Their industry expertise and interactive talks provided students with valuable knowledge, practical insights, and inspiration for research and project work. The event was well-organized with enthusiastic support from student coordinators.

The Teachers' Day celebration organized by Team CRESA on 4th September 2024 at LRDC Hall was a vibrant and memorable event attended by 100 participants. Honoring the dedication of teachers, the event featured cultural performances, interactive games, and a special address by Dr. Govind Kulkarni. Students expressed gratitude through music, dance, and heartfelt messages. The celebration fostered stronger student-teacher bonds, highlighted the value of regional language education, and received enthusiastic feedback from all attendees.

The newly formed CRESA Induction Programme was held on 3rd October 2024. 180 students became the members of this association. The event included Deep Pujan, badge distribution, an oath-taking ceremony, and inspiring speeches from dignitaries including Dinesh Annantwar Sir. Students were introduced to CRESA's mission of promoting technical education in regional languages. The program fostered a strong sense of community and responsibility among members and concluded with the felicitation of achievers and a vote of thanks.

A workshop on Data Analytics using Power BI was conducted on 9th October 2024, with 70–80 participants in attendance. Mr. Manikandan S., Senior Engineer at Rolls Royce Solutions Asia, led the session, sharing over 20 years of industry expertise. The event covered key concepts in data analytics, Power BI tools, and included a hands-on live project. Students gained practical experience in data visualization, modeling, and dashboard creation—equipping them with industry-relevant analytical skills and boosting their career readiness in data-driven fields.

Guidance session on Interview Cracking & Resume Making

On 10th October 2024, the Department of Computer Engineering (Regional Language) organized a cybersecurity seminar titled "SECURE IT - The Way To Be Safe", in collaboration with CRESA and OWASP PCCOE. The session, attended by 165 participants, featured Mr. Tanmay Dikshit from Pidilite Ventures, who shared insights on the role of AI/ML in modern cybersecurity. Participants learned about threat detection, data protection, and secure IT practices. The interactive session sparked interest in cybersecurity careers and empowered attendees with practical knowledge to enhance digital safety.

Attended by 80–120 participants, the event featured dramatic readings, poetry recitations, and an insightful session by literary guest Shri Nilesh Mahachandra Gawade. Students engaged in interactive discussions on the impact of books in shaping personal and professional growth. The event successfully inspired reading habits, self-expression, and appreciation for regional and global literature.

The Data Analyst Workshop was conducted on 17th October 2024 with 70–80 participants, focusing on practical applications of Microsoft Power BI. Led by Mr. Manikandan S., Senior Engineer at Rolls Royce Solutions Asia, the session provided hands-on training in data processing, visualization, and modeling. Students worked on live datasets, developed interactive dashboards, and gained valuable insights into real-world data analytics. The workshop effectively enhanced participants' analytical skills and prepared them for roles in data-driven industries.

The Use of LaTeX in Report Writing session was held on 18th October 2024, with 80–120 students participating. Ms. Pooja Deshmukh, Senior Software Engineer at DominanceTech IT Solutions, guided students through LaTeX basics, including formatting, citations, and document structuring. The interactive workshop featured hands-on demonstrations, helping students build professional technical documents. The session proved highly beneficial, especially for TY students, by enhancing their report-writing skills and encouraging further exploration of LaTeX for academic use.

CRESA BabyCon INNOVATE 2024, held on 26th–27th October at PCCoE, brought together 180 participants to explore advancements in data analytics, AI/ML, computer vision, and web technologies. Graced by esteemed guests including Dr. Amol V. The Department of Computer Engineering (Regional Language) at PCCoE inaugurated its Center of Excellence (CoE) on Innovation in Blockchain on 8th January 2025, in collaboration with i4C and Indian Blockchain Alliance. The event featured distinguished guests Mr. Raj Kapoor, Mr. Avnish Gupta, and Mr. Deakin Daney, who shared visionary insights on blockchain's ethical, industrial, and academic applications. Student showcases and the felicitation of "Team Pioneers" highlighted student engagement in blockchain innovation. The event successfully laid the foundation for research, industry collaboration, and skill development in emerging technologies.

Blockchain Center of Excellence

The Department of Computer Engineering (Regional Language), PCCoE, organized an industrial visit to STPI Dehradun, where 56 students gained insights into India's IT and startup ecosystem. Led by Prof. Anandkumar Birajdar and Prof. Rohini Sarode, the visit featured an engaging session with Mr. Maneesh Kumar, Additional Director, STPI. Students explored cutting-edge incubation programs like NGIS, CHUNAUTI, and specialized labs in AI, IoT, and Blockchain. The visit inspired innovation and provided exposure to real-world entrepreneurial opportunities and government-led IT initiatives.

Industrial Visit to STPI Dehradun

The ARISE Expo introduced students to Augmented Reality (AR) and its real-world applications across industries like hospitality, healthcare, and education. With expert talks by Danio Galli and Srinivasa Rao, the event explored AR-driven business solutions and digital transformation. Around 50 students gained exposure to career and internship opportunities in emerging tech fields. The event fostered interactive learning and inspired students to explore innovation-focused career paths.
